  1. Great job, Karen! I love Your joy and confidence on the ice. You make me smile everytime I watch your performances, because You are so cheerful and happy. And Your Bielmann is absolutely amazing. Hope to see You some day and sorry for my terrible English. Greetings from Poland in Europe:)

      1. Not really, I’m just skating for fun, in my country we don’t have a lot of figure skating clubs ( such a shame ), but I really love figure skating and I watch almost every competition:) Thanks for Youtube, because figure skating isn’t popular in Poland, so this is the only way to watch You and other great skaters. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for You and hope to see Your great performances in the upcoming season:) I’m still learning English, so sorry for mistakes (once again:)) I’m so thankful for You response, I didn’t expect that:)

      2. Thank you for your wish. I’m working on my new programs and hopefully master them soon.
I often watch skating competitions and shows on youtube and love it too. 🙂

  2. Karen~ you are sooo good 😀 and I love love love your butterfly routine 😀 Happy Birthday! hehe 😀 I used to skate… but then I quit in third grade…. When did you get your doubles? I love your artwork too! Hope to see you in the Olympics one day!

      1. Wow! You’re really really talented. 😀 and thanks for the reply 😀 I got my double loop before I quit… (I’m nearsighted… I can’t wear contacts or skate with glasses, so basically I can’t really see so I was scared to go fast…) yeah…. and do you find skating hard? Because you seem to really really enjoy it and you just flow effortlessly through your routines 😀 (but I know you put a lot of work through it) Good luck in all your future competitions 😀

      2. Thank you! I am nearsighted as well. 😉 Since I have to skate, I wear hard contacts lenses during the nighttime, so that I don’t need to wear anything for my eyes during skating. Yes, skating is a very difficult sport just like gymnastics. Thanks again!

      3. OMG…. gymnastics is actually my favorite sport… maybe even more than figure skating… 😀 i kinda still do it… but only aerials and various leaps 😀 but i find skating easier… hmmmm but maybe that’s because I didn’t really get up there to where you are now… and yes i had the nightime contacts (CRT) for a while… but my eyes cant stand things in them… 😦 so there went skating for me… 😦 oh well… at least i can still enjoy watching people like you skate 😀 when’s your next competition?

      4. I have never done gymnastics, but I have watched gymnastics during Olympics. Gymnastics is pretty exciting! All those gymnasts amaze me! 🙂 Wow!!! You can do ariels!?! I can do like a cartwheel and other simple things. 😛
My next competition is the coming Saturday. It is a local competition in my area. It is called Skate San Fransisco. 🙂

      5. Yup I can do aerials… but practically nothing else… XD Yup gymnasts amaze me too…and figure skaters do too! Do you have a favorite gymnast/figure skater? 😀 I like Kyla Ross and Yang Yilin (of China) XD on the gymnastics side and Kim Yuna and Patrick Chan 😀 (i luv the picture of you and him 😀 😀 😀 ) Good luck on Saturday!!! 😀

  3. You are a really amazing skater! Your jumps and spins are gorgeous. Do you take any ballet or dance classes?

      1. ooooh~ i currently take ballet and chinese dance class 😀 it does help a lot with expression 😀

  4. Hey Karen, do you have a video of your 2011 Peacock one? I luv your skating sooo much 😀 IMO you have the best biellmann on Earth 😀

  5. Every Tuesday and Tursday, I see you skating at Sharks Ice at Fremont! Also, today, at my group lesson, I saw you helping Robby!

  6. Wow!! you’re a great skater
My cousin (valerie tan) always watch youtube about your performances and always trying to do the spin in the ice 😀

  7. btw, the first pic or u is the background of my gmail account. and my profile photo is of u. 😛

  8. All the photos are really beautiful. I find you never boring to watch, and…. my last name is Chen, my parents are from Taiwan, I wear those hard contacts at night, I really like art and take art classes, one of my favourite subjects, and I skate ( not as good as you 😃, but I’m working on a double axel ) I also really love your spins, especially the layback and beilman. You have been and will always be my idol. The thing I most love about you is your confidence, I don’t think I would ever be able to look on the bright side if I sprained my ankle that badly! Good luck at your next competition!! 🏆

    1. Hi Angela,
Thanks for your kind words! 🙂 My parents are from Taiwan too. Good luck to your double axel and enjoy your art classes while your still can. I don’t take art lesson that often now due to busy schedule.

  9. Karen ….. I flew over from Scotland and have just witnessed your 3rd place finish in Greensboro! A big congratulations! I had the opportunity to meet and chat with your parents at the warm up/practice rink each day as we were sitting/watching in the stands. Result? I have become an instant fan. After chatting, I would then move and set up at the end of the rink before you went into competition. You may or may not have noticed as I took many Nikon SLR pics from there. I would be glad to send the best of you your way if you have any interest (grattis). You can even see your parents in a couple! Heck … it was the moments before you shocked the skating world!

Let me know if interested and where to forward Or if there is a particular website to upload. My wife and I are are now following.. Regardless … Best of success to you and your brother and thanks for the excitement and helping to make the trip that much more significant!

we were playing candy crush together!

  10. Hi Karen,
I’m just a college student who relieves stress by watching figure skating on Youtube.. And I stumbled upon one of your competitions. You skate so fastly and it was so fun watching you; it really put a smile on my face. 🙂 Take care! (Cos you’re gonna be the 2018 Olympic champ!)

  11. You were wonderful at Skate America. 🙂 Not sure how to say it…. But you wear your heart on your sleeve when you skate. Maybe it’s not technically perfect, but it’s very moving.

  12. Dear Karen,

My name is Lucy, and I am 6 years old. We just watched you on TV, and I love how you ice skate.

I am going to take an ice skating class in November, and I hope I get better like you.

    Love,
    Lucy

    1. Hi Lucy,
Thank you for visiting my website and telling me that you enjoy my skating. It means a lot to me. 🙂
Follow your heart and you will get better and better.

Good luck on your figure skating journey!
      Karen
